Eurovent India Elects New Chairpersons In HVACR Industry

Concluding its first two years of establishment, the local Working Group of Eurovent members and certified manufacturers active in India has elected new Chairpersons to steer the group’s activities for the next two years. Eurovent India members gathered in Mumbai for its Annual Meeting, which was followed by a technical workshop titled ‘Energy Efficient Indoor Air Quality Solutions’, that welcomed almost 200 professionals from various industries. Energy efficiency in ventilation The event highlighted the strong interest in technical presentations on improved energy efficiency The event highlighted the strong interest in technical presentations on improved energy efficiency in ventilation and Indoor Air Quality (IAQ), one of the group’s major focal areas.  During the Annual Meeting, Mr. Alok Bhardwaj, Vice President of Systemair India, was elected as Chairman, taking over this role from Mr. Devraj Singh, Managing Director of FlaktGroup Asia. He will be supported by Mr. Anil Chopra, Head of Regulatory Affairs of Camfil India, as Vice-Chairman. Energy efficiency targets Mr. Alok Bhardwaj stated: "I am honored and excited to take on this role on behalf of our members. India looks forward to a massive expansion of infrastructure and strong economic growth, which will come with huge challenges to meet energy demands and reduce carbon emissions." He adds, "The collaborative work by Eurovent India is an essential contribution to help this country achieve its development goals and energy efficiency targets." leadership Skills Mr. Markus Lattner, Eurovent International Director, stated: "Our sincerest appreciation goes to Mr. Devraj Singh, who has been an excellent chairman and whose active contribution was essential in the establishment of the group." He adds, "Building on the successful foundation of the first two years, I am looking forward to seeing the next steps taken under Alok’s leadership." HVACR installations Eurovent India is a collaborative effort of Eurovent members and Eurovent-certified manufacturers interested in contributing towards sustainability, energy efficiency, better IAQ, and the development of higher standards in the country. By raising awareness of common problems and highlighting technical solutions, its participants provide important knowledge and expertise to reduce energy consumption and the adverse effects of substandard HVACR installations.

Eurovent Appoints New PG-CUR Chairperson And Vice-Chairperson

The Eurovent Product Group ‘Air Curtains and Fan Heaters’ (PG-CUR) has elected Michael Hims (Carver) as its new Chairperson. He will be supported by the newly elected Vice-Chairperson, Xander Van Bree (Frico BV). The election took place during the online Product Group meeting held on 13 February 2024. Michael Hims (European NPD Manager at Carver) will succeed Carsten Dittmar (Commercial Product Area Director at Systemair), who served as the Eurovent PG-CUR Chairperson since October 2022. New technical Guidebook Michael will be taking over the position of Chairperson after having served as the group’s Vice-Chairperson since October 2022. He has experience in working with the Product Group on both the acoustic guide and pioneering the development of a new technical Guidebook for air curtains. New Vice-Chairperson Xander Van Bree has over three decades of experience in the HVAC sector The new Vice-Chairperson - Xander Van Bree (Managing Director at Frico B.V) has over three decades of experience in the HVAC sector and has been actively supporting the air curtain sector through local and European market initiatives, technical studies, and regulatory work since 2002. He sits on the Board of the Eurovent Dutch Member Association Binnenklimaat Nederland. Chairperson of Product Group The new Chairperson, Michael Hims, stated: “I would like to thank the PG-CUR participants for electing me as the Chairperson of this Product Group. Under Carsten Dittmar, we started a lot of exciting projects, and taking on this role allows me to complete our existing work agenda and to work with Xander to ensure that we tackle the topics important for the members today." Michael Hims adds, "Air curtains and fan heaters play an important role within the HVACR market today. We need to ensure that manufacturers have both a voice and feel supported by the wider industry to allow their products to deliver on key areas such as energy saving and indoor air quality.” Innovation and sustainability in the HVAC sector In addition, the new Vice-Chairperson, Xander Van Bree, mentioned: “I am particularly drawn to our Product Group and to Eurovent due to its commitment to innovation and sustainability in the HVAC sector. As the PG-CUR Vice-Chairperson, my goal is to leverage my experience not only to serve the interests of our industry but also to fortify the association’s position as Europe’s major representative of air curtain and fan heater manufacturers.” The Eurovent Product Group ‘Air Curtains and Fan Heaters’ (PG-CUR) is the only dedicated committee to air curtain and fan heating and/or cooling technologies within the EMEA region. It covers air curtain units for commercial, industrial, and cold storage purposes and fan-driven heating and/or cooling products. It is the largest group of air curtain unit and fan heater manufacturers worldwide and is supported by Eurovent Member Associations on a national level.

Martin Lenz And Andy Bijmans Re-Elected To Chair Eurovent Product Group ‘Air Handling Units’ (Eurovent PG-AHU)

The Eurovent Product Group ‘Air Handling Units’ re-elected Martin Lenz (TROX) as the group’s Chairperson and Andy Bijmans (Systemair) as its Vice-Chairperson. The election took place during the group’s last meeting in Hinwil. Participants of the Eurovent Product Group ‘Air Handling Units’ (PG-AHU) re-elected Martin Lenz, Head of International Business Development / Head of Research and Pre-Development at TROX GmbH (Germany) as the group’s Chairperson during the group’s recent meeting in Hinwil. Lenz and Bijmans to Chair Eurovent PG-AHU Martin Lenz will continue to be supported by Andy Bijmans, Manager R&D at Systemair (Netherlands) who was also re-elected as Vice-Chairperson of the group. Martin and Andy were both initially elected to Chair the group in 2017, due to their broad experience and knowledge in the air handling sector and look forward to continuing the task for the next two years. I am convinced that with the strong participation of AHU manufacturers in the PG-AHU, we will successfully overcome these challenging issues.” Eurovent Product Group ‘Air Handling Units’ The Eurovent Product Group ‘Air Handling Units’ covers air handling units for non-residential applications. It deals with air handling units and their components (e.g. air filters, energy recovery components, fans), often in cooperation with the specialist Eurovent Product Groups that cover specific components. The group’s key tasks involve advocating European and national legislative initiatives on this subject, accompanying EN, and ISO and standards, developing industry codes of good practice, and general promotion of the industry.
