The globally renowned pump manufacturer, Wilo presents an entirely new generation of drainage pumps with the Wilo-Padus UNI.
Wilo-Padus UNI
The successor to the Wilo-Drain TS 50/65 submersible drainage pump, the Wilo-Padnus UNI drainage pump sets new standards in terms of flexible application for different fluids.
“The Wilo-Padus UNI is the ideal entry-level model for wastewater transport. Composite material is used to protect the hydraulics against corrosion, making the pump more reliable and far more flexible to use,” said Olivier Armbruster, Product Manager at Wilo, adding “As a result, the Padus UNI can be used to transport wastewater with differing composition.”
Improved hydraulics with semi-open impeller
The integrated strainer filters coarse solids out of the fluid before they can reach the hydraulics"
The drainage pump’s hydraulics has been improved by the use of a semi-open impeller, while the smooth inner surfaces also ensure higher operational reliability and optimal efficiency. “The integrated strainer filters coarse solids out of the fluid before they can reach the hydraulics. This prevents the drainage pump from clogging”, Olivier Armbruster explained.
The Wilo-Padus UNI is portable, but it can also be set up in a pump chamber, as the pump’s installation location is flexible. For example, it could be set up to prevent a garage from flooding in the case of infiltration or improper runoff of rainwater.
Featuring Wilo-Control switchgears
“First and foremost, the drainage pump is intended for smaller commercial properties, such as office complexes or warehouses,” explained Olivier Armbruster. With the help of Wilo-Control switchgears, the pump can also be integrated into existing building management systems, allowing it to communicate with other systems.
Olivier adds, “Installation is very simple, thanks to its lightweight design and the fact the capacitor of single phase motors has been integrated into the pump housing.” The strainer is attached with three screws which, on the one hand, enable quick access to the pump inlet and, on the other hand, eases adjustment of the clearance between the impeller and baseplate.
Direct access to sealing chamber
“Maintenance is simplified for the user as there is direct access to the sealing chamber and quick access to the pump housing,” adds Olivier Armbruster. The high-volume sealing chamber extends the period between maintenance intervals, while the double mechanical seal provides additional protection.
