In order to continue to enhance its offering of high quality, reliable, easy-to-operate combi boilers, Viessmann has added a new 35 kW output model to its Vitodens 050-W range. The new addition provides domestic hot water (DHW) output from 2.9 to 35 kW and heating output from 3.2 to 32 kW, with a modulation range of 1:10 for increased seasonal efficiency.
The Vitodens’ MatriX-Plus burner with Lambda Pro combustion-control system ensures permanently high efficiency and low emissions, earning it an ERP efficiency rating of 92% (Class A). The unique proposition of WiFi inside allows out-of-the-box commissioning via Viessmann’s ViGuide Mobile app, while the homeowner has full control of their heating using the ViCare app.
Launched in the UK in 2015, the Vitodens 050-W gas-fired condensing boiler has grown in popularity thanks to its guided commissioning process, quiet operation, ease of maintenance and low spare-part costs.
Attractive boiler
“The new higher output and increased flow rate offer a very attractive boiler at a mass-market price, for installers and customers looking for Viessmann quality and reliability, and offer increased hot water comfort for 1-bathroom properties,” said Viessmann marketing director Darren McMahon. “It’s ideal for both the specification sector and retrofit installations.”
As with other models in the Vitodens range, weather compensation can be incorporated with the simple addition of an inexpensive outdoor sensor, as the circuit board already incorporates the software for weather compensation operation.
In addition, due to the unique in-built WiFi, the boiler can be connected to the ViCare app even when the boiler is installed with 3rd party controls. This will ensure the boiler receives software updates, similarly to other connected devices, enabling fault diagnostics for the boiler and aiding the ongoing service and maintenance regime.
Three-year guarantee
The boiler is certified for a blend of 20% hydrogen and up to 20 meters for horizontal and vertical flue systems. The Vitodens 050-W comes with a three-year guarantee as standard, increasing to seven years if fitted by a Viessmann-trained installer and registered on the Viessmann Installer Portal, with an option to increase to 10 years.
