The change negotiations in Vaisala’s Weather and Environment business area in Finland have been concluded. Vaisala started the change negotiations in November to reshape the operations and organization in the Weather and Environment business area in Finland.
The changes support the execution of the Weather and Environment business area’s strategy and performance priorities.

The aim is to continue efforts to improve the profitability of businesses operating in more mature, system lead markets, such as meteorology, aviation, and road winter maintenance.
And, on the other hand, the aim is to increase investments in growth areas such as renewable energy and energy transition in general as well as accelerate the growth of subscription-based data business.

A specific change support package has been offered to these employees
The initial estimate was that the change negotiations could lead to a reduction of a maximum of 40 positions. The negotiations covered 291 employees in Finland. In total, Vaisala employs over 2,200 employees, of which over 1,400 in Finland.
As a result of the change negotiations, 15 people’s employment at Vaisala will end. A specific change support package has been offered to these employees.
