Vaillant, the heating technology specialist from Remscheid, is working with Microsoft on the digitalization of its heating systems. Vaillant is showcasing new developments for the Internet of Things at the Microsoft stand of the 2019 Hanover Fair.

The focus is on the digital networking of products with virtual systems and therefore on one of this year’s key topics at the international industry exhibition. Vaillant is set to expand its portfolio of digital products and services even further.

Simplifying Installation And Maintenance

The system’s consumption values can be read by the owner in the Vaillant app

The aim is twofold: firstly, to improve efficiency and comfort for heating owners, and secondly, to simplify installation and maintenance for installers. In the future, the heating technology specialist will also rely on the cloud platform Microsoft Azure.

A digitally interconnected system can understand the behavior of the residents and change the temperature of the rooms and hot water to suit their exact requirements. It improves efficiency, reduces costs and at the same time increases comfort. The system’s consumption values can be read by the owner in the Vaillant app, which is connected to the heating system via a digital interface.

Self-Learning Early Warning System

Installers can now use serviceASSIST, a special professional app designed to help them in their customer service. The app contains a self-learning early-warning system which presents alerts, for instance, if the water pressure has been sinking over a certain period of time or if some operating state is deviating from the norm.

The installer then receives an online alert, telling them to check the system to prevent it breaking down

The installer then receives an online alert, telling them to check the system to prevent it breaking down. This reduces the need for maintenance and repairs. “We want to provide our end customers with maximum transparency of their energy use and optimum operation of their heating systems. At the same time, we want our installers to have Web-based solutions that simplify their day-to-day business,” says Philipp Fudickar, Head of IoT Program at the Vaillant Group.

Hands-On Experience Of Heating Technology

With Microsoft we have a strong partner at our side who provides us with an efficient and secure IT platform.”

Vaillant delivers hands-on experience of heating technology at the Hanover Fair. The new digital products and services for property owners and installers can be viewed at the Microsoft stand (hall 7, stand C40) from 1 to 5 April.
