Pullman Fleet Services, a long-standing Carrier Transicold network service partner, replaced its 35-strong van fleet and added 10 new technicians, to help continue to operate to the highest standards of aftersales supporting Carrier Transicold customers.
Carrier Transicold is a part of Carrier, a provider of innovative heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC), refrigeration, fire, security and building automation technologies.
Increasing Equipment Capacity
Growing our team is vital to support Carrier’s expanding product range and customer base"
The 35 new 3.5-tonne service vans replace the existing fleet featuring the latest generation of tooling, a new internal storage system to increase equipment capacity, with expectations to be in operation up to 24 hours per day, seven days per week, covering the East of Scotland, South and West Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and North London.
The 10 new technicians increase Pullman Fleet Services’ maintenance capacity across its three service regions of Bathgate, Maltby and Spalding. “Growing our team is vital to support Carrier’s expanding product range and customer base, and demonstrates our continued confidence in the brand – particularly as it introduces new flagship products like the Vector® HE 19 trailer unit,” said James Hipkiss, General Manager, Pullman Fleet Services.
Providing Quality Training
“We carry out most service work at customer locations, so our fleet is business critical. Putting 35 new vans on the road is a major commitment, but it’s important we give our teams the best equipment for the job.”

Pullman Fleet Services has also put five of its technicians on Carrier Transicold UK’s Training Academy programme, since its launch in 2015. The academy’s objective is to ensure a steady flow of new talent into the network by providing quality training for future generations of transport refrigeration engineers.
Mobile Service Technicians
“We’ve been putting new recruits through the Training Academy for four years and it’s great to see how their skills develop during the course. It’s a fantastic way to nurture the next generation of technicians into the industry,” adds Hipkiss.
