Panasonic has welcomed Kooltech, one of the UK's independently owned distributors of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning products, to its distribution network. Kooltech will now distribute Panasonic’s full range of commercial refrigeration CO2 Condensing Units from its seven branches across the UK.

Paul Taylor, UK Sales Manager explains, “We are delighted to welcome Kooltech on board as a UK distributor of our Cold Chain CO2 Condensing Units. The company has a large, knowledgeable team, who are skilled in energy saving solutions. Their reach will help us satisfy customer demand for new solutions in the changing world of refrigeration and to help futureproof businesses within the retail and cold chain sectors.”

The Panasonic Commercial Refrigeration CO2 range has been specifically developed for small to medium capacity applications within the retail and food service sectors and is particularly suited for installations in small supermarkets, convenience stores and garage forecourt retail operations. Units in the range work well for both refrigerated and freezer showcases, as well as walk-in freezers and cold rooms, and offer an ideal refrigeration solution for restaurants and hotels.

Demand for natural refrigerants

Eddie Mills, National Marketing and Positioning Manager for Kooltech Ltd comments, “With new F-Gas regulations coming into force and with specifiers and installers being more aware of the greener alternatives, we are seeing an increase in customer demand shifting towards more natural refrigerants such as CO2 for their refrigeration needs. Having investigated alternatives, we found that Panasonic is ahead of the curve with its CO2 range. The company has over 10 years of development behind the product range, and customers and installers speak highly of the energy efficiency, compact size and reliability. Kooltech can provide complete design and technical support. We are delighted to now be working with Panasonic and to be able to offer our customers a CO2 solution for their refrigeration applications.”

Kooltech was first established in 1979, having built an enviable reputation across the UK for the team’s knowledge and expertise. The team is well-known for in-depth product knowledge, helping customers to improve efficiency and minimize energy consumption.

The Commercial Refrigeration CO2 range

All models are suitable for medium and low temperature applications

The Panasonic commercial refrigeration units each comprise of a highly efficient two-stage rotary compressor which is unique to Panasonic (covered by a five-year warranty). The units are compact in size, light weight and have low noise levels, making this solution ideal for small supermarkets, convenience stores and petrol stations.

All models are suitable for medium and low temperature applications. This makes them ideal for up to 200m3, as well as systems which combine multiple retail display cases. A heat recovery function can also be applied to provide heating, using the waste heat from the system to produce free hot water.

The Panasonic CO2 condensing units are designed for fast and easy plug and play commissioning, with extended pipe runs between 25 and 100 meters. The units also feature four pre-programmed application settings and can be integrated with market leading controllers.

Minimizing energy use and operating costs

By combining reliability and efficiency, with the natural refrigerant CO2, the range removes any risk of future costs associated with the F-Gas refrigerant phase down, whilst also minimizing energy use and operating costs.

The team at Kooltech are completing a detailed training plan with Panasonic in the new CO2 condensing unit product range. Over the coming months, they will be inviting contractors to attend further virtual training sessions in the use of CO2 and the installation of the Panasonic commercial refrigeration units via Microsoft Teams, with the experts at Panasonic.
