To meet the growing demand for water circulation systems, particularly for larger applications and in line with the F-gas Regulation, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Air Conditioning Europe (MHIAE), the European sales subsidiary of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Thermal Systems (MHI Thermal Systems), has officially begun mass production of air-cooled heat pump chillers in partnership with Stulz S.p.A, a pioneer player in the chiller market.

Hydrolution PRO series

A commencement ceremony was held in Verona, Italy on October 17, 2024, to celebrate the production launch of the Hydrolution PRO air-cooled heat pump chiller. The event was attended by executive teams and employees from Stulz S.p.A, MHIAE, and MHI Thermal Systems.

The first unit was dispatched following a ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking a significant milestone in this collaborative venture. MHIAE will distribute these chillers across European and UK markets through its extensive distributor network.

air-cooled inverter heat pump chiller

Hydrolution PRO employs R32 refrigerant, which has a low GWP reducing refrigerant use

The Hydrolution PRO series is an advanced, air-cooled inverter heat pump chiller designed for diverse applications, from residential and office space heating/cooling to IT environments.

In response to increasing environmental awareness and market demand in Europe, the Hydrolution PRO employs R32 refrigerant, which has a low Global Warming Potential (GWP), reducing refrigerant use while maintaining exceptional efficiency.

inverter-controlled compressor

This efficiency is achieved through MHI’s innovative e-3D scroll compressor, which minimizes mechanical loss by compressing vertically and horizontally, resulting in a more compact design than traditional scroll compressors.

The inverter-controlled compressor and water pump enhance environmental benefits by delivering industry-pioneering seasonal efficiency (SCOP).

RC-MCU-E remote control system

MCU-C-E group management controller optimizes unit operation based on load demand

The Hydrolution PRO also features the RC-MCU-E remote control system, offering intuitive touch control and the capability to manage up to 20 units with a single interface. A built-in calendar function allows customized scheduling based on seasonal and load requirements.

Additionally, the MCU-C-E group management controller optimizes unit operation based on load demand, enhancing energy efficiency. Standard Modbus communication ensures seamless integration with supervisory control systems, providing real-time energy consumption insights.

environmental policies

The partnership between MHI Group and Stulz S.p.A combines cutting-edge technologies, manufacturing capabilities, a robust supply chain, and a deep understanding of the European market’s unique environmental policies. This collaboration aims to deliver state-of-the-art heat pump chillers tailored for the European market.

In addition to the Hydrolution PRO, MHI Group’s product lineup includes the Q-ton CO2 heat pump water heater and Hydrolution EZY series monobloc air-to-water heat pumps, offering comprehensive solutions for reducing CO2 emissions and promoting energy conservation.
