Big 5 Construct Saudi, the largest construction event in the Kingdom, became a dynamic hub of innovation and advancement on the second day of the exhibition.

Running until 29 February, the event witnessed several product launches and live demonstrations, drawing visitors and potential buyers.

Building upon the momentum of the first day, exhibitors spared no effort in showcasing their latest products and technologies, drawing crowds eager to witness firsthand the advancements to support the exponential growth of the Kingdom’s construction sector at Big 5 Construct Saudi,” said Muhammed Kazi, Vice President – Construction, dmg events.

Live demonstrations and product launches provided attendees with experiences and valuable insights into the capabilities of various products.

From interactive showcases to live demos of the latest technology-enabled displays, products & solutions could revolutionize and innovate design, building, and delivery processes throughout the industry. 

  • Pinnacle Infotech

One such company, Texas-based Pinnacle Infotech, a pioneering solutions provider of BIM services showcased how the integration of PiVDC solution for Virtual Design and Construction (VDC)professionals could streamline BIM workflows for projects.

  • Built Industrial

Riyadh-headquartered Built Industrial, a renowned name in the fields of contracting, construction, electrical, and mechanical works presented its Insulated Concrete Form (ICF), a popular construction method that combines the strength of reinforced concrete with the exceptional insulation properties of foam.

  • CGM Progetti

CGM Progetti from Italy showed a live demo of their panel cutting machines, which are used for the fabrication of HVAC R ducting.

  • Optimas

Elsewhere in the outdoor area of the exhibition, Optimas presented a live demo of the Vacu-MobilAllrounder, which is best suited for smaller construction sites and garden landscapes. Some of the unique features of the equipment include the presence of four hydraulically controllable support feet for a safe stand, rubber tracks for easy maneuverability, and a compact design for narrow passages.  

  • ALUMIL Middle East

ALUMIL Middle East displayed products such as Supreme PD 100, a thermally broken pivot door with an electromagnetic lock and an intricate design; the Supreme S500, the world’s first levitating sliding system with a minimal and symmetrical aesthetic featuring 25mm interlock profiles utilizing magnets for unobstructed operation; and bioclimatic pergolas that provide efficient protection against extreme weather conditions.

She shared insights on how she witnessed an opportunity to expand the demand for sculptures in the Kingdom

Manhattan-based designer Lillian Gorbachincky, who has worked on prestigious projects for brands such as Tiffany & Co, Graff, Dior, and Chanel, exhibited her designs and nature-inspired collection of glass and metal sculptures.

She shared insights on how she witnessed an opportunity to expand the demand for such products in the Kingdom, which has a growing appetite for innovative elements in architectural projects.

Wrapping up discussion on its final day and attracting 1,448 attendees, the International Contracting Conference (ICC), organized by the Saudi Contractors Authority (SCA) and dmg events delved into dialogues around nurturing talent in the industry, strategies for managing financial resources and revolutionizing contracting through artificial intelligence, among other industry-relevant topics.

Construction sector in achieving Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030

Speaking at one of the panel discussions, titled ‘The role of the construction sector in achieving Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 for sustainability’ at the conference, Eng Saud. Alshaikh, Executive Director – Eastern Regional Office, Tahweer Buildings Company, said, “Everyone in the construction industry has to immediately educate and implement sustainability."

"Each organization must set a clear sustainable goal, integrate sustainability concepts into the planning phase, and invest in training and education towards sustainability,”

Separately, the Big 5 Talks, focused on the theme of technology, and attendees captured key insights around the implementation of BIM, the future of construction technology in the Kingdom, and value engineering.

"We have to prioritize simple and integrated solutions and understand one solution doesn’t do everything. There has to be a strategy behind every project," said Petros N. Zouzoulas, MEA Innovation Practice Lead at Parsons Corporation, during his session, 'Simplexity: Crafting efficient and accessible future in infrastructure with tech.'

With more product launches, insightful takeaways, and new partnerships, the remaining days of Big 5 Construct Saudi will continue to facilitate valuable industry networking opportunities and drive forward the advancement of the construction sector,” concluded Kazi.
