The TempMaster® brand of Johnson Controls releases a new line of dedicated outside air systems (DOAS) to deliver flexible comfort options, enhanced indoor air quality and improved energy efficiency.

A wide array of factory-installed options provides more combinations of heating and cooling than ever before including optional heat pump operation, water source operation and hot water heat options. The systems also feature an internal energy recovery wheel that pre-conditions 100 percent of outside air to reduce heating and cooling loads by transferring energy between the airstreams.

Efficient Variable Capacity Compressors

The new Tempmaster DOAS meets ASHRAE requirements for building ventilation"

Handling up to 18,000 cfm of air and providing as much as 70 tons of cooling capacity, the new Tempmaster DOAS meets ASHRAE requirements for building ventilation, provides efficient variable capacity compressors and addresses the needs of building owners and consulting engineers,” said John Tuleya, product manager, Applied DX products at Johnson Controls.

The dedicated outdoor air unit can control supply air to room neutral by utilizing multiple reheat options, provides superior control of high volumes of outside air while maintaining high indoor air quality.” The new DOAS line offers air or water cooled units, in various configurations ranging from cooling-only to heat pump.

Variable Refrigerant Flow Systems

A full selection of factory-installed options adds to system flexibility, including:

  • Modulating or staged gas heat, SCR electric heat or hydronic heat options
  • Six row evaporator coil for maximum capacity and moisture removal
  • Multiple reheat options: modulating or on/off, liquid subcooling
  • BAS connectivity
  • Vertical or horizontal supply configurations

Often paired with another heating, and air-conditioning (HVAC) system, a Tempmaster DOAS can operate in conjunction with a separate sensible cooling system for a bundled solution. Paired system options include standard rooftop and self-contained units, chillers, water-source heat pumps, and variable refrigerant flow systems.
