Tom Nugent plays a pivotal role as a leader at the Buffalo branch – and an even larger part in the community.

Over the last few months, Tom and his team completed seven Habitat for Humanity installations and they walked in a First Responder Parade in Lancaster, NY. He also presented at BOCES and at a number of career fairs across the region. “It's about serving the community that gives so much to us," he says.

Intensive training program

In addition to his many passions, Tom is a presenter at the Isaiah 61 Project – a free, 500-hour intensive training program that prepares inner-city adults for careers in construction. The mission is to change lives and transform neighborhoods one person, and one home, at a time.

I think it’s important to show that even if you don't choose to attend college, great careers are everywhere. Working in a trade like construction is a perfectly viable option,” he says.
