Innovative approaches to meet cooling demand within the hospitality sector and in data centers are among the projects shortlisted for the 2022 Energy Awards. Wilo is the award’s headline sponsor for 2022.

Supply, generation, and use of energy

The full shortlist for this year’s awards is online and looks at innovative projects and services in a range of areas considering the effective supply, generation, and use of energy.

These issues are increasingly vital at a time when the cost of energy is surging globally amongst supply uncertainty and as governments around the world plan to decarbonize their economies by shifting away from fossil fuels.

eChiller industrial cooling solution

A passive cooling technology from Katrick Technologies designed for data centers is also among the finalists

Of the 19 categories being contested at this year’s awards is the prize for ‘Physical Technology of the Year’ that focuses specifically on cooling or heating systems.

Among the shortlisted entries in the category is an eChiller industrial cooling solution from Efficient Energy, and new approaches to cool the hospitality and industrial sectors. A passive cooling technology from Katrick Technologies designed for data centers is also among the finalists competing for the prize.

Digital innovations

Among the other categories in the 2022 awards are prizes for both national and international ‘Energy Supplier of the Year', as well as two separate ‘Energy Project of the Year awards focused on residential and commercial/industrial projects.

Several categories will look at digital innovations in monitoring systems and other data technologies that can allow industries to better manage energy use for vital functions such as powering buildings and their key systems.

Innovations and services

All the shortlisted finalists will take part in face-to-face judging over the week. This will allow entrants to impress our expert panel with their innovations and services and to answer questions on what they may mean for the future of the UK’s energy systems.

The winners will be unveiled at a ceremony taking place on 29 June at the Grosvenor in London that will be hosted by RAC Magazine editor Andrew Gaved. This year’s shortlist can be found on the website along with details on how users can join at the awards which will be a unique opportunity to network with major figures from across the sector.
