The European Commission has opened the feedback period its EU classification system for facilitating green investments. The initiative falls under the aim of the Commission to create a classification system for sustainable economic activities (a ‘taxonomy’).

More specifically, the Commission has proposed a draft text which establishes the technical screening criteria for determining the conditions under which an economic activity qualifies as contributing substantially to climate change mitigation or adaptation. Stakeholders are invited to provide feedback on these criteria.
