Heat Transfer Products Group, LLC (HTPG), manufacturer of commercial refrigeration equipment sold under the recognized brands of Russell, Witt, Kramer, and ColdZone, was recognized for excellence in product design in the 16th annual Dealer Design Awards Program sponsored by The Air Conditioning Heating & Refrigeration News magazine.
An independent panel of contractors acted as judges in the contest that had 79 entries. HTPG’s EcoNet® Enabled Unit Cooler with EcoNet Command Center won the Gold Award in the miscellaneous category (a new combined category from Refrigeration & Ice Machines and Miscellaneous categories). Winning entries in the Dealer Design Awards were featured in the July 29, 2019 issue of The ACHR News.
Redesigning technology
“EcoNet Enabled Unit Coolers with EcoNet Command Center is our latest collaboration with Rheem Manufacturing. Our engineering teams did an outstanding job of building on the innovations and intelligence of Rheem’s EcoNet Smart Thermostat technology and redesigning that specifically for commercial refrigeration applications.”
“It’s a smart, powerful tool that gives our customers the ability to control their walk-in coolers and freezers to maximize energy efficiency and product quality,” said Paul Westbrook, HTPG’s director of sales and marketing.
Innovative solutions
The awards issue gives readers an opportunity to read about innovative installation and service solutions “We are very proud of our engineering teams and honored to receive a Gold Award by The NEWS,” he commented.
“These awards give us a unique opportunity to recognize the outstanding research and development efforts that go into many of the products serving the HVACR industry and the awards issue gives our readers an opportunity to read about innovative installation and service solutions,” stated Mike Murphy, publisher of The NEWS.
Energy-saving coolers
The EcoNet technology saves energy in refrigeration systems through precise superheat and space temperature control, fan cycling, and controlling how often the system goes into defrost based on compressor runtime.
It eliminates unnecessary defrosts, maximizes energy efficiency with less compressor runtime, reduces liability by eliminating icing issues, reduces fan speed to 50% during off cycle to save energy, and reduces temperature fluctuations by regulating defrosts for improved product quality.
Remote access
The EcoNet Command Center is an intelligent device that provides remote local control over EcoNet Enabled Unit Coolers in a walk-in cooler or freezer applications. It’s designed to be simple to operate for seamless control of both groups and standalone systems.
The intuitive graphical interface controls up to 32 devices (including the Command Center) through one display, provides continuous communication between system components, and the remote mount display allows for EcoNet Enabled Unit Coolers to be programmed, monitored, and troubleshot outside of the space being cooled.
Command center
“Having the command center mounted outside of the walk-in is an industry first and enables the user to get a true picture of the walk-in’s condition, without entering the walk-in, and easily make any necessary corrections,” said Westbrook.
“Being able to monitor multiple connected EcoNet Enabled Unit Coolers from one display is a huge advancement and timesaver,” he continued.
