Matt Moyers faces the challenges of multiple wounds from years of service as an U.S. Air Force veteran and bomb technician, but soon his home will be more comfortable, after Goodman Manufacturing Company, L.P. donates and a local dealer installs a new high-efficiency heating and cooling system.

Goodman’s donation is part of the manufacturer’s continuing support of Lifetime Network’s Military Makeover reality series, a show that gives U.S. veterans a helping hand by renovating and renewing their homes, which have often fallen into disrepair.
After finding Moyers family home in Smithville, Missouri home needing significant attention – with an aging, inefficient HVAC system, treacherous entryways and even a coffee table held together by zip ties – Military Makeover chose to help the former munitions systems craftsman, whose inherently dangerous job was making bombs. Stints in Korea and Iraq left Moyers with multiple wounds, both seen and unseen. He is challenged by PTSD, insomnia, depression, a shoulder injury and severe back trauma that makes it difficult to walk or stand for extended periods.
Cost saving equipment and consistent indoor comfort
Goodman, a proud sponsor of Military Makeover since 2016, will salute Moyers and his family by donating a high-efficiency HVAC system to help lower utility bills and provide consistent indoor comfort year-round. Goodman will enlist the help of a local independent HVAC dealer to install the system.
“Goodman is proud to support veterans, take part in the Military Makeover television series and offer hope and a helping hand to our veterans — right here on the home front,” explains Nathan Walker, senior vice president, corporate marketing at Goodman.
