GE Appliances (GEA), a Haier company, introduced the Cool Series of appliances designed specifically for recreational vehicles. GEA will showcase the new line, including rooftop air conditioners and 12-volt refrigerator at the Elkhart RV Dealer Open House this week.

“We’ve been making appliances for over 100 years, so we’re bringing decades of innovation to a new category of products with the Cool Series,” said Brigitte Mader-Urschel, Commercial Director for GE Appliances.

corrosion resistant coatings

Built for long lasting performance and cooling power, the Cool Series RVAC, features a sealed fan motor to repel dirt and debris, corrosion resistant coatings, extensive vibration control and a high-performance motor engineered for quiet operation. The units are aerodynamically designed to reduce drag and complement the overall RV exterior. They are available in two colors of durable, automotive-grade, UV-resistant polymer—snow white and ice black.

“We developed a product that addressed several pain points expressed by the industry and its customers,” said Dusty Henderson, Design Manager for GE Appliances. “This is not simply a room air conditioner shoe-horned onto an RV. We were very purposeful in our design and engineering to create a superior product that stands out in the category.”

semi-automatic defrost system

The models are available with stainless-steel doors, LED interior lighting and ample useable space

The Cool Series RVAC is available for ducted and non-ducted applications and features a variety of ceiling assemblies and controls, including standard louvered vents and remote, programable thermostats. There are six models with 13,500 BTU and 15,000 BTU cooling options, and two models that incorporate heat pumps. A new line of 12-volt refrigerators offer RV enthusiasts household refrigerator comforts while on the road.

The models are available with stainless-steel doors, LED interior lighting and ample useable space. The refrigerators are designed specifically for use in an RV by using a semi-automatic defrost system, which is built for battery performance. Additionally, the refrigerators do not require external RV ventilation. There will be four models available in two sizes – 10 cubic feet and 6 cubic feet. The products were designed and engineered in Louisville, Ky in collaboration with Midwest Sales and Service (MWSS).

improved product experience

“The patent-pending, industry-first technology from GEA dramatically improved the product experience for RV manufacturers, dealers and owners,” said Heath Wechter, Executive Vice President of MWSS. “The company worked very closely with us throughout the development process ensuring that their product works as original equipment and in after-market applications.”

GEA will demonstrate its new products in the GE RV Cool Series coach, a mobile test lab and product showcase that is the focal point of the GEA booth. The trailer features live product demonstrations and hands-on testing for visitors.
