Friedrich is proud to announce that Friedrich's FreshAire PTAC has been selected as a top product in Building Design & Construction's Building Systems Best Products of 2018. The award winners were selected by BD&C readers, editors, and staff in Jan. (2019). Building Design & Construction annually ranks the best of building products in multiple categories. In their recently published 2018 “Best of Building Systems” category, Friedrich has topped the list as the #1 selection of the 101 products among other top products such as Hubbell Lighting's SpectraLoc LED, and Zumtobel's Basys LED II DownlightsBest.

commitment to efficiency

According to the release, Friedrich’s FreshAire PTAC was chosen due to the company’s technology and efficiency. “Friedrich’s FreshAire PTAC system combines an energy-efficient inverter compressor with the ability to bring in conditioned make-up air—a first for PTAC units (according to the maker). The system meets ASHRAE 62.1-2013 standards that require the unit to bring in a specific amount of outdoor air and provide MERV 8 filtration. The Precision Inverter compressor with variable speed functionality allows the unit to deliver only the amount of cooling or heating needed for the room.”

“This is a great testament for our Friedrich team and the countless efforts we put into designing systems that exceed our customers' expectations,” said TJ Wheeler, Vice President of Product Management & Marketing. “Our products are industry-leading and the industry is awarding us for our commitment to efficiency, leadership and thoughtful design.”
