Franklin Electric Co., Inc. is helping HVAC engineering professionals maximize their system operation with the Cerus® X-Drive, an all-inclusive variable frequency drive (VFD) solution designed for versatility, intuitive startup and overall ease-of-operation.

Available in multiple standalone and packaged configurations, including UL Type 1, 12 or 3R rated bypass or enclosed control panel (UL Type 4X engineered to order), the VFD is engineered to handle variable torque applications up to 700 horsepower and pairs seamlessly with Franklin Electric’s pumping and control systems.

Application-Specific firmware

Each unit includes application-specific firmware that pre-programs settings for quick and easy startups and reliable protection for projects on fans, air handling, cooling towers, centrifugal pumps and vacuum pumps.

The Cerus® X-Drive is built to get users up and running quickly, with long-term reliability"

The Cerus® X-Drive is built to get users up and running quickly, with long-term reliability and consistent performance,” says Adam Brouwer, Senior Product Manager for Large Pump Electronics. “Every component is centered around the user’s unique requirements and designed for time savings and enhanced safety during installation and servicing. We’ve engineered the X-Drive to include an array of setup, monitoring, and troubleshooting solutions including compatibility with the FE Connect app for mobile devices. It’s all part of our on-going commitment to providing our customers with the best product and support in the industry.”

Compact Form-Factor

Cerus X-Drive also features a compact form-factor with power density (hp/in3). This aids in reducing the overall panel size, occupying less physical floor or wall space.

For users, this means they get more power in a smaller footprint, which is incredibly important since the space for mechanical systems is always at a premium. The smaller size also makes the units easier to ship and install -- without sacrificing performance or reliability,” says Brouwer.
