The Federal Association of the German Heating Industry is involved as a cooperation partner in the Mittelstand 4.0 competence center for planning and building. The association is thus promoting its activities around the topic of Building Information Modeling (BIM).
The competence center is a project funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy that supports small and medium-sized companies and craft businesses in digitization and in getting started with BIM. Specifically, the competence center offers lectures, training courses, and various event formats for exchanging experiences and networking partners.
Modern working method
“With the cooperation, we want to strengthen the knowledge transfer around the topic of BIM in the interests of our members,” says Ralf Kiryk, BIM Project Manager at BDH. BIM is the modern working method for planning, creating, and operating buildings. The method is based on the active networking of all those involved over the entire life cycle of a building.
With the help of digital data in the VDI 3805 format, the TGA trades involved can be coordinated within a BIM model, planning security increased and critical points checked more quickly (e.g. collision check). These digitally optimized processes minimize the work and costs involved in a project. So that this can also be used internationally, VDI 3805 is currently being transferred to EN ISO 16757.
