The Eurovent Product Group ‘Commercial Refrigeration Equipment’ (PG-RDC) has published an updated version of the Recommendation 14/6 – ‘Interpretation of Regulation (EU) 2019/2018 and Regulation (EU) 2019/2024’.

The updated version comes after one year of the Ecodesign and Energy Labelling requirements for refrigeration appliances with a direct sales function entering into force.

Achieving the energy-saving targets

The updated version, which provides an interpretation of the Ecodesign and Energy Labelling measures, comes with the addition of standard configurations of remote vertical open roll-in cabinets and a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section with answers to 69 in-depth questions concerning the interpretation of the Regulation (EU) 2019/2018 and the Regulation (EU) 2019/2024.

The update interprets the Regulation by elaborating, on matters that required a further explanation"

Maurizio Orlandi, Intellectual Property and Technical Compliance Group Manager at Epta and the Chairman of the Eurovent Product Group ‘Commercial Refrigeration Equipment’, states, “The current update of the 14/6 Recommendation further interprets the Regulation (EU) 2019/2018 and the Regulation (EU) 2019/2024 by elaborating, with the use of the FAQ section, on matters that required a further explanation from manufacturers. This will certainly help in quickly achieving the energy-saving targets proposed by the Commission.”

Impact of FAQ

Francesco Scuderi, Deputy Secretary-General of Eurovent, continues, “One year after the entry into force of the Ecodesign and Energy Labelling requirements for refrigerating appliances with a direct sales function, an update of the Eurovent Recommendation 14/6 was much needed."

"The newly introduced FAQ section will provide both manufacturers and MSAs with additional support and will help to ensure the level playing field.” This document was prepared in a joint effort by participants of the Eurovent Product Group ‘Commercial Refrigeration Equipment’ (PG-RDC), which represents a vast majority of all manufacturers of these products active on the EMEA market. The document can be downloaded free of charge in the Eurovent Document Library.
