Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Social Policy Konstiantyn Koshelenko informed Danfoss that Ukrainian experts had found a Danfoss component in a Russian military vehicle which fell into the hands of Ukrainian soldiers since the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The letter included a photo of the military vehicle.

Danfoss conducted a thorough internal investigation and within 24 hours replied to the deputy minister that the component in the picture of the military vehicle was presumably a Danfoss coil. However, Danfoss could not establish what was below the pictured coil, which is usually used with a solenoid valve.

Statement to the authority

On 11 April 2022, Danfoss sent a similar statement to the Danish Business Authority. In the statement, Danfoss made clear that it had not sold coils to Russian manufacturers of military equipment. Danfoss has examined sales data from and including 2014, which shows that there have been no sales of Danfoss coils to Russian manufacturers of military equipment.

Against this background, the Danish Business Authority conducted a closer examination of whether Danfoss had sold, delivered, transferred, or exported coils in violation of either the dual-use regulation or the sanctions against Russia. On 25 May 2022, the Danish Business Authority informed Danfoss it had decided to take no further actions and no longer be involved in the case.

Controlled exit

As previously announced, on April 1, 2022, Danfoss decided to initiate a controlled exit from Russia.

Following its exit from Russia, Danfoss will not sell products to Russia. Danfoss has been operating in Russia since 1993.
