New milestone in the relationship: The joint history of SG Flensburg-Handewitt (SG) and Danfoss continues. The Danish global company and the German runner-up handball club are extending their partnership, which originally would run until 2023, for an additional six years until 2028.

Danfoss is increasing its sponsorship level to become SG’s main partner. The Danish company Danfoss employs almost 40,000 people worldwide and is headquartered in Nordborg, Denmark, on the island of Als.

Ensuring energy efficiency

Danfoss works with solutions for the green transition that ensure energy efficiency and electrification in areas such as cities and transportation. One of Danfoss’ production sites is in Flensburg. Danfoss is one of the largest employers in this region – on both sides of the German-Danish border – and an important pillar for the border region.

Danfoss has supported SG since the 2018/2019 season. The jersey partnership, with the Danfoss logo on the back of the player jerseys, also includes employee events and exclusive events in FLENS-ARENA. The decision to upgrade the sponsorship to main partner for an additional six years is unparalleled in the history of SG Flensburg-Handewitt and shows Danfoss' clear commitment to the club and to the border region.

Inspiring other companies

This broad view into the future underlines the continuity for Flensburg Handewitt

This broad view into the future underlines the continuity for Flensburg Handewitt and thus clearly emphasizes the link with the pioneer Danfoss. "We are incredibly proud that Danfoss is so clearly and consistently committed to SG," emphasizes SG Managing Director Dierk Schmäschke.

"The extension and scope of this partnership is anything but self-evident for SG – it is a milestone for us. I am very grateful to Kim Fausing and Jürgen Fischer, as well as the Clausen family and all of Danfoss. I see this as strengthening our partnership structure of SG, inspiring other companies to join us in creative ways. Danfoss' idea, vision and strategy are a perfect fit for SG – even though we operate in such different fields of work. We look forward to more great years together and hopefully further successes for the region on both sides of the border."

Extension of sponsorship

"We are happy to announce this extension of our sponsorship. Danfoss is a global company, but we want to make a positive impact and a difference in the local communities where we operate. This sponsorship underlines our commitment to the border region,” says Jürgen Fischer, President in Danfoss Climate Solutions, and continues:

As a company, we always strive to be a leader in our field. For that reason, we find it natural to extend a sponsorship like this with a club that also wants to be the best. Even though it is two different worlds, we can learn a lot from each other, and I am looking forward to the next six years as main sponsors.”
