Over the past months, Danfoss has made several exciting updates to the popular Refrigerant Slider app. Danfoss improved the interface, integrated several of the other apps, and added quality of life improvements that made it much easier to use.

Danfoss announced that Refrigerant Slider is now RefTools, an essential, all-in-one mobile app for air conditioning and refrigeration technicians.

The Cooling industry is becoming smarter and increasingly complex, and HVACR professionals need tools, guidance, support, and information that keep them on the cutting edge. RefTools puts all of that in the palm of one’s hand.

Features of RefTools

RefTools includes five of Danfoss’ most popular and useful air conditioning and refrigeration tools:

  • Refrigerant Slider
While Refrigerant Slider is transforming into Ref Tools, it will retain all the core functionality that made it a hit with millions of installers around the world. One can still find Refrigerant Slider within Ref Tools and use it to quickly calculate pressure/temperature ratios for over 80 refrigerants.
  • Low-GWP Tool
Low-GWP Tool helps one find and compare climate-friendly refrigerants for retrofitting by checking compatibility with the cooling system’s TXV.
  • Troubleshooter
Troubleshooter helps one identify and compare symptoms in a refrigeration system that is acting up. Once the issue is identified, Troubleshooter also recommends solutions to try.
  • Spare Parts
Spare Parts lets one access and order an extensive list of Danfoss’ spare parts and service kits for industrial refrigeration applications, right from the job site.
  • Magnetic Tool
Magnetic Tool helps one test and troubleshoots solenoid valve coils quickly and easily.

Track most visited service sites

One can seamlessly transition between any of these tools with a tap of the finger, so one always has the right one at hand. RefTools also lets one track one’s most visited service sites and save unique settings for each one. One saves time and simplifies each service call.

RefTools also provides one with some educational entertainment; one can access the popular Chilling with Jens podcast directly in the app. One minute, users can use RefTools to work on a cooling system; the next, users can take a quick break to learn something new about refrigeration.

This is just the beginning. Throughout 2020 and beyond, Danfoss will continue to add new tools, features, and content. Danfoss are committed to providing the ongoing support and improvements that make Ref Tools the must-have app that every technician needs in their digital toolbelt.

RefTools is available to download free. One can also access Ref Tools via an internet browser.
