From Saturday 2 October to Sunday 31 October 2021, visitors to Kew Gardens will be invited to immerse themselves in the art, plants, and culture of Japan, and will be able to interact with the Daikin brand throughout their experience.

Experts from Daikin will be on hand to educate visitors about the role heat pumps have to play in the future of home heating highlighting key products in an interactive mobile showroom over a week (dates) at the Brentford Gate entrance to the Gardens

Home climate control solutions

Angela McGinlay, Managing Director of Daikin UK, said: “Supporting Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew through the Japan Festival makes a lot of sense for Daikin UK.”

Since our business was founded in Japan nearly 100 years ago, our mission has been to create home climate control solutions that meet the needs of any home and every lifestyle. And we want to do that while caring for the environment and protecting future generations, something that aligns closely with Kew’s ethos.”

The partnership also enables us to engage directly with Kew’s audiences – introducing them to the benefits of air source heat pump technology and encouraging them to make the transition, sending more leads into our installer base in the process.”

The Japan Festival

The Japan Festival will take place in Kew’s majestic Temperate House, and will bring to life a celebration of the fascinating culture of Japan, which is deeply rooted in nature.

This will include spectacular horticultural displays, featuring the Chrysanthemum, Japan’s national flower – alongside an immersive soundscape inspired by Japan’s rivers, waterfalls, mountains, and coast.

New stream of support

Neal Donnelly, Director of Development at RBG Kew, added: “We are very pleased to be receiving this new stream of support from a business that understands the importance of the environment. The Japan festival is an exciting new addition to our visitor program, and to kickstart it with the involvement of a company of this nature feels absolutely right.

Installers interested in working more closely with Daikin can join its Sustainable Home Network and enjoy benefits such as unlimited, free training, branded merchandise, and workwear and marketing support, alongside qualified sales leads from homeowners.
