The extended capacity range, compact design, wide operating envelope, and high energy efficiency, are the main strengths of this new Series, which will complete Daikin’s R-32 product family for the Commercial Air Conditioning segment.

The Series is distinguished by its efficiency levels, providing best in the market in cooling and heating mode, and the lowest direct and indirect CO2 emission levels. Together with the use of R-32, which is known for being a low GWP and a sustainable refrigerant, this makes the new Small Inverter Chiller an environmentally friendly choice.

Developing innovative solutions

Comments Marco Flavio Calanca, Marketing Director at Daikin Applied Europe: “With our commitment to developing innovative solutions that can help our customers reduce their environmental impact, we are proud to be launching another great product - the new R-32 Inverter Scroll Chiller and Heat Pump Series.”

With less refrigerant charge than R-410A units and a low GWP, the R-32 Small Inverter Chiller is an environmentally friendly solution. It is quick to install, easy to maintain, and offers outstanding energy efficiencies.”

Versatility and performance

The cooling only version provides chilled water from 25 ˚C down to -15 ˚C

Its quiet operation, a reduced footprint, advanced connectivity, and wide operating limits make the new R-32 Small Inverter Chiller an ideal solution for a wide range of HVAC projects, from comfort to process applications.

The cooling only version provides chilled water from 25 ˚C down to -15 ˚C and ambient temperature operation from -20 ˚C up to 45 ˚C as standard. An optional high ambient temperature kit allows the unit to operate in outside ambient temperatures above 45 °C and up to 52 °C. Heat pumps are designed to cope with an extended ambient temperature range of -20 ˚C to 35 ˚C, and can produce hot water up to 60 °C.

Notable among the outstanding features offered as standard by this Series are the Daikin design DC-Inverter Scroll compressors, the optimized Cu-AI Coils, and the brazed plate heat exchangers. Also included within the unit are high-efficiency Daikin design DC-Inverter fans with a selectable silent mode, and an inverter pump kit with both low and high lift variants.

Smart Control solutions

Daikin has worked to offer the most advanced features in terms of connectivity and monitoring. The Smart Control solutions for this Series are specifically designed to reach the highest level of performance and system flexibility.

The R-32 Small Inverter Chiller can communicate with any external BMS and offers the Master and Slave option as a standard – allowing the sequencing and connection of up to 4 units to include the designation of one as the Master unit. The new Series also stands out for its enhanced ability to connect to the Internet through the Internet of Things. A dedicated Mobile Configuration App makes commissioning extremely fast and easy.

The Smart Control Solutions for the new Small Inverter Chiller also include Daikin on Site, remote monitoring, and system optimization within the Daikin proprietary cloud platform, which ensures full control of the units through detailed monitoring, online alarm troubleshooting, and remote control.

Development of R-32 technology

The new Small Inverter Chiller consolidates Daikin’s leadership in the design and development of products featuring R-32 refrigerant. In 2018, Daikin was an early innovator and made history by introducing the first R-32 refrigerant chillers, followed by free-cooling scroll units the same year, and the R-32 Heat Pump in 2020.

Today, Daikin leads the market, with the highest number of R-32 installations in the world - a testimony to Daikin’s experience and knowledge, together with the quality and reliability of its R-32 products. With the introduction of the new R32 Small Inverter Chiller, Daikin continues leading the way towards innovative and sustainable solutions for the Air Conditioning sector.
