CLIMASET s.r.l. offers solutions for managing low and normal-temperature cold rooms. The regulation supports cold rooms equipped with an autonomous refrigeration group or with an expansion or glycol centralized system.
Overview
The regulation for cold rooms is based on the pCO controller with the CLIMASET s.r.l. Application, capable of managing the various temperatures, humidities, defrosts, alarms, and timings of the system. The pCO controller is then interfaced with one or more pGDN terminals, or with a 7-inches pGDX touch screen for cold rooms.
The pCO may then be managed by a pCOWeb or with a boss range supervisor. The remote supervisor may then be done with the Plantgate, the solution available also with a handy app: for more details, please see the following sections.
Regulation features
Here are the strong points of the regulation for cold rooms:
- The management of cooling by using an autonomous compressor, a valve or solenoid cooling request or a solenoid,
- The management of heating by using electrical heaters, an ON/OFF device, or a modulating valve,
- The management of dehumidification using the cooling or the heating device, the management of humidification by using an ON/OFF humidifier,
- The management of defrosts and the possibility of having more than one evaporator.
Other functions of the CLIMASET s.r.l. The cold room is the counting of working hours, the list of past alarms/events, and the management of the cell light.

With the pGDX touch screen user can visualize the status of the system and of the various devices (probes, evaporators, fans, etc.), but it is also possible to turn ON/OFF the regulation, set the room illumination, the alarms reset, change setpoints and time bands. pCOWeb for cold room management
The pCOWeb is an pCO optional webserver for managing a single pCO controller. Handy webpages are available for seeing the cold room from PCs, smartphones, or tablets.
With the pCOWeb for cold room management, users can:
- see the status of the cold room devices,
- change various parameters such as setpoints,
- manage the time bands and other user parameters,
- turn the system ON or OFF from the pCOWeb,
- see active alarms and reset them,
- access service parameters of the pCO controller.
All users have to do is open the web browser, enter the address of the pCOWeb board and the user is ready to manage the cold room.

Boss range supervisors help users to keep the system always under control, due to e-mails or IM app alarm messages, detailed reports of the various devices, and graphs with historicized variables of the various monitored devices.
CAREL or Modbus protocols
Boss range supervisors are compatible with Industry 4.0 and, with energy meters, they allow users to measure electrical consumption and keep them always under control.
Depending on the model chosen, there are two serial lines for connecting various field devices, extendable using appropriate converters. These supervisors may communicate devices on the field using CAREL or Modbus protocols; it is also possible to integrate instruments of third-party manufacturers.
Remote supervision with Plantgate
Boss range supervisors and pCOWebs are compatible with Plantgate, the solution for remote supervision: users can use devices of the system remotely, anywhere in the world, whether the user is at home or the office.
With the Plantgate users can forget the need to buy a static IP: the supervisors and the pCOWebs become a website surfable with every browser, or reachable using the handy APP.
