Trane® - by Trane Technologies, a global climate innovator is pleased to share that the City of Fenton, Missouri, has achieved energy savings of 29% in the first year following a comprehensive energy and infrastructure upgrade on four city buildings.

The city achieved nearly $70,000 in energy savings over the initial twelve-month period or 701,313 kWh in electric and 20,595 therms in natural gas. This equals 606 metric tons of reduced carbon emissions, the equivalent of more than 1.5 million miles driven by an average passenger vehicle.

improving energy efficiency

This was a significant renovation project for our city,” said Mayor Bob Brasses. “Working with Trane, we were able to upgrade our existing infrastructure and improve our energy efficiency. We had high expectations for the outcome, only to have them surpassed in the first year.”

Trane upgraded interior and exterior building lighting to high-efficiency LED

Working consultatively with the project team, Trane identified opportunities to support the city’s energy reduction goals, including upgrading four of the city’s main buildings’ HVAC infrastructure along with a web-based integrated building automation controls platform, upgrading interior and exterior building lighting to high-efficiency LED fixtures and other general building improvements.

Creating sustainable future

The project included high-efficiency systems upgrades for the Riverchase Recreation Center, City Hall, Community Development and Public Works, and converting city-owned streetlights to LED along the main thoroughfare, Gravois Bluff Blvd., improving light levels and overall esthetics.

When the City of Fenton came to us to help them achieve their energy efficiency goals and decrease their energy consumption, we recognized an opportunity to make a wider impact,” said Jennifer Geen, senior account manager, Energy Services and Solutions, Trane. “Through our collaboration, we have designed and implemented a highly-efficient solution that has already made a positive impact on the community and helped to create a more sustainable future for our planet.”
