On World Plumbing Day, 11th March, two proud members of the Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering (CIPHE) received Master Plumber Certificates. Organized by the Livery Companies Skill Council (LCSC), the event was hosted by the Worshipful Company of Carpenters at the Carpenter’s Hall in London. Certificates on the day were awarded by The Rt Hon The Lord Mayor, Alderman Peter Estlin.
Jamie David Cousins and Lucy Mawer were both worthy recipients of the prestigious award, which is only attained by the highest of skilled members of the plumbing& heating industry. The ‘Charge’ which Jamie and Lucy accepted, was read out by Dame Fiona Woolf, the Master of the Worshipful Company of Plumbers.
About Deserving Recipients
Jamie David Cousins Eng Tech MCIPHE RP RHP has over 20 years of experience in the plumbing industry and is currently a plumbing lecturer at Bucks College Group (High Wycombe Campus). Jamie pursued a full-time career in teaching, following managing his own business and some sessional teaching of students and apprentices. Jamie is enthusiastic in his teaching and goes to great lengths to inspire and motivate his students, often taking them to national plumbing competitions and exhibitions.
Lucy Mawer Eng Tech MCIPHE RP has over 17 years of experience in the plumbing industry and is currently Head of Plumbing and University Academy Holbeach. Lucy has spent her career helping others to achieve their potential. Lucy developed her passion for training as the owner of a female plumbing company, where she supported several apprentices and work experience placements. Realizing her calling, she entered into teaching and hasn’t looked back.
