CIAT (ClimaCIAT) has introduced a new range of VectiosPower rooftop air conditioning units, operating on R-454B refrigerant, so as to offer customers an optimum application solution. With a GWP of 466, R-454B’s overall carbon footprint is more than 80% lower than HFC R-410A, the refrigerant it replaces.

CIAT is a part of Carrier Global Corporation, the renowned global provider of healthy, safe, sustainable and intelligent building and cold-chain solutions.

VectiosPower rooftop AC units

We believe VectiosPower operating on R-454B offers the best all-round solution for the environment"

We believe VectiosPower operating on R-454B offers the best all-round solution for the environment, installers and building occupants,” said Natividad Molero, Product Manager - Rooftops & Packaged Units at CIAT.

He adds, “VectiosPower operating on R-454B offers all the space-saving and low noise benefits of the previous generation, while using the best refrigerant for rooftop applications, reducing environmental impact and delivering higher efficiencies, and lower operating costs.

Advanced indoor air quality technologies

Natividad Molero further stated, “And, with its advanced indoor air quality technologies, such as high-efficiency filtration, fine air flow control and optional CO2 sensors, it supports the highest levels of comfort and well-being, and aligns with #CIAT4life for the creation of healthier indoor environments.

The updated VectiosPower range offers the same options as the previous series on R-410A, and exceeds Ecodesign 2021 Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) requirements for cooling by up to 42% and Seasonal Coefficient of Performance (SCOP) for heating by 10%.

First rooftop AC units registered under Ecopassport program

Aligned with CIAT’s goal of providing customers with high quality, verifiable information on environmental performance, VectiosPower and Vectios were the first rooftop air conditioning products registered under the internationally recognized Ecopassport program, which is based on the ISO 14025 Environmental Product Declaration standard.

The registration requires a full life cycle assessment and a Product Environmental Profile (PEP), a detailed evaluation of a product’s environmental performance and impact.

Innovative and efficient HVAC solutions

Innovative, efficient solutions, such as CIAT’s VectiosPower, support Carrier Corporation’s 2030 ESG goals

Innovative, efficient solutions, such as CIAT’s VectiosPower, support Carrier Corporation’s 2030 Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) goals of reducing customers’ carbon footprint, by more than 1 gigaton and investing over US$ 2 billion, to develop healthy, safe, sustainable, and intelligent building solutions that incorporate sustainable design principles and reduce lifecycle impacts.

VectiosPower operating on R-454B is available in 12 sizes spanning airflow rates from 10,800 to 54,000m3/h, with cooling capacities from 98 kW to 273 kW, and heating capacities from 98 kW to 300 kW. The fully Eurovent-certified range is ideal for applications, such as supermarkets, cinemas, offices, industrial buildings, and food storage facilities.

Easy installation and low noise generation

For installers, VectiosPower units are easy to lift and position on rooftops, due to design optimization and the use of lightweight aluminum panels. Once in place, units simply require an electrical connection.

For end-users and building occupants, VectiosPower units deliver low noise with quiet running scroll compressors and fans that adjust their speed to match building load. The latest electronic expansion valves, high-efficiency electronic fans, and smart control systems provide this performance.
