As Carrier continues to gain momentum with its all-electric transport refrigeration offerings worldwide, its Vector eCool units are now available and on the roads of Australia. Carrier Transicold is a part of Carrier Global Corporation, the renowned global provider of healthy, safe, sustainable and intelligent building and cold chain solutions.

We are excited to bring this sustainable solution to our customers,” said Stephen Elford, the Managing Director for Australia-New Zealand region at Carrier Transicold, adding “This fully electric trailer refrigeration unit operates autonomously without the need for a diesel engine.

Vector eCool units

The Vector eCool units uses cutting-edge energy recovery and convert kinetic energy generated by the trailer into electricity, which is then stored in a battery pack to power the refrigeration unit.

This loop creates a fully autonomous system that produces no direct carbon dioxide or particulate emissions. Additionally, the system is telematics-enabled, which allows customers to use data to make faster decisions, in order to improve the effectiveness, efficiency and sustainability of their supply chains.

Electric options for trailer, truck and light commercial vehicle

The Vector eCool system’s ability to improve energy efficiency is part of Carrier’s plan

In January 2022, Carrier announced it would have electric options for trailer, truck and light commercial vehicle available for customers, before the end of 2022, helping address upcoming emissions regulations.

The Vector eCool system’s ability to improve energy efficiency is part of Carrier’s plan to reduce customers' carbon footprint, by more than one gigaton, while also aiming to achieve carbon neutral operations by 2030, as outlined in its ambitious Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Goals.
