Carrier Transicold Europe will showcase new products and a wealth of sustainable transport solutions to meet its customers’ needs at IAA Commercial Vehicles 2018.

The brand will also launch ‘Move Your Senses,’ a campaign highlighting how each of the five human senses – sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch – can be a guide in determining the quality and freshness of consumer goods. Carrier Transicold Europe is a part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp.

Increasing Operational Efficiency

The Supra CNG unit is a PIEK compliant, refrigeration system that significantly reduces emissions

Carrier Transicold’s next generation temperature-controlled trailer system – the Vector HE 19 trailer unit – takes center stage. Its new, modern design incorporates a range of innovations that significantly increase operational efficiency – improving fuel consumption by up to 30 per cent, reducing unit weight by 10 per cent and boosting refrigerant containment even further. These design changes help to minimize the system’s environmental impact, while reducing both running costs and the total cost of ownership for operators.

Also on display is the Supra CNG compressed natural gas (CNG)-powered multi-temperature refrigeration unit, which won the IAA’s Trailer Innovation Award in the environment category, its third innovation award since its launch less than a year ago. The Supra CNG unit is a PIEK compliant, high-performance refrigeration system that significantly reduces emissions, cutting particulate matter by 95 per cent, nitrogen oxide by 70 per cent and CO2 by 20 per cent, versus the emissions from current generation diesel technology.

Lowering Maintenance Costs And Improving Fuel Efficiency

At IAA, Carrier Transicold will also launch the new e-Solutions connectivity package – an advanced online telematics platform designed to improve product visibility, manage operating costs and enhance operational efficiency throughout the cold chain.

Carrier Transicold’s commitment to emissions reduction through its range of powerful engineless solutions

Carrier Transicold’s commitment to emissions reduction through its range of powerful engineless solutions will be on display, providing operators with a cost-effective way to meet tightening inner-city emissions regulations, while lowering maintenance costs and improving fuel efficiency.

The ECO-DRIVE hydro-electric power source is just one of Carrier Transicold’s alternative energy sources to provide customers with flexible power options. Another is a new alternative solution that Carrier Transicold is launching at IAA. For trailer systems, the new system converts both the power generated by the trailer’s axles and the kinetic energy created under braking into electricity that re-charges a battery pack. The system can also be connected to mains power while parked.

Transporting Ultra-Sensitive Goods

For light commercial vehicles (LCVs) Carrier Transicold is showcasing its Pulsor® 600 MT unit – one of a number of high-performance single- and multi-temp units that is ideally suited to transporting ultra-sensitive goods, such as pharmaceuticals.

Each of the senses can be a guide in determining the quality and freshness of consumer goods. Carrier Transicold Europe’s new ‘Move Your Senses’ campaign – unveiled at IAA Commercial Vehicle 2018 – will illustrate how refrigerated transport plays an integral role in that process. To kick off this campaign, visitors to the booth can move their own senses with an interactive quiz for prizes. Come to stand E15, hall 27 and see for yourself.
