Carrier Commercial Refrigeration is expanding its range of QuietCO2OL MC compact indoor refrigeration units, which use the natural refrigerant carbon dioxide (CO2), in order to strengthen its sustainable product offerings in the convenience store sector.

Carrier Commercial Refrigeration is part of Carrier Global Corporation, the global provider of healthy, safe, sustainable and intelligent building and cold-chain solutions.

QuietCO2OL MC refrigeration units

With more than 20 new models featuring semi-hermetic compressors, the QuietCO2OL MC range of refrigeration units offer greater capacities that can benefit larger convenience stores, while providing a compact footprint, flexible design and quiet operation.

Maximum cooling capacities of up to 93 kW for medium temperature and 17 kW for low temperature applications are now available to order – increasing capacity by 86% and 70%, respectively.

Vibration control and soundproofing optimized

Vibration control and soundproofing have been optimized through a series of product enhancements, resulting in a running noise similar to an air-conditioning system or refrigerator.

Comprehensively expanding the range made perfect sense for our customers"

Comprehensively expanding the range made perfect sense for our customers,” said Gael Grenat, the Product Management and Marketing Director at Carrier Commercial Refrigeration, adding “Food retailers are opening more convenience stores across Europe, and we recognized the technology in our QuietCO2OL MC range offers an ideal sustainable solution for larger stores.

Uses natural refrigerant CO2

The new models bring advantages for installers and store owners, because they are fully serviceable from the front, thereby allowing them to be placed against walls, and even into corners.

Running on natural refrigerant CO2, which is not affected by EU F-Gas regulations and has a global warming potential of 1, means they contribute directly to Carrier’s aim to reduce customers’ carbon footprints by more than 1 Gigaton, as part of its 2030 Environmental, Social and Governance goals.

Maximum flexibility and ease of transportation

Carrier’s QuietCO2OL MC models can be split into two modules for ease of transportation to the machine room – making them particularly well suited as a retrofit solution for stores in city centers, where access and available space can be limited.

For maximum flexibility, the QuietCO2OL MC systems can be installed in multiple combinations and configurations, and are designed for operation with a wide range of controllers from multiple brands.

Ideal solution for small and medium cold stores

In addition to the convenience store sector, they offer a great solution for small and medium cold stores, and to support building extensions requiring additional capacity.

The QuietCO2OL system is part of Carrier’s Healthy, Safe, Sustainable and Intelligent Cold Chain Program, which provides fresh foods and medications to people around the world and ensures the safe storage and transport of critical vaccines, through advanced connectivity and visibility.
