Blended Products, experts in specialty chemicals and gases, has become a distributor of Delta-T, an advanced surfactant that significantly enhances the efficiency of water-based heating and cooling systems.

Delta-T

Delta-T is a liquid additive, utilizing a patented formula developed by chemicals firm SafeSol following 15 years of research.

It works by reducing the surface tension of water, which allows water within a heating or cooling system to reach a much greater surface area of heat exchangers, causing a dramatic increase in heat transfer efficiency. In university tests, a space heated by a copper coil got to a temperature 3.2 times faster with Delta-T.

efficient and sustainable

Alex Robinson, MD of Blended Products Ltd, said, "Delta-T is a revolutionary product that substantially reduces energy consumption, refrigeration costs, and CO2 emissions."

He adds, "Not only does it offer customers a quick return on their investment, but its mass adoption can significantly mitigate UK energy demands. It is a win-win product, with wide appeal, and results that speak for themselves."

Reduces energy costs

Trial data revealed a saving of 60,000kWh compared to the corresponding period the year before

A three-month trial by Sheffield City Council showed that using Delta-T would reduce the annual energy costs of one of its office buildings, a site measuring 72,000 sqft, by an impressive 70%.

Delta-T was added to the water circuit of the office’s chilled water system that supplies cold water to the building’s air conditioning. Trial data revealed a saving of 60,000kWh compared to the corresponding period the year before.

This reduction in energy usage represented an annual cost saving to the council of £35,400 as well as a 51-tonne reduction in CO2 output.

return on investment

Trial results also showed that the investment in the product would be recuperated in less than two months.

Vicki Morrison, MD of SafeSol Ltd, said, "SafeSol has spent 15 years researching and developing Delta-T alongside the University of the West of Scotland."

system additive

Vicki Morrison adds, "We are excited to be working with Blended to get Delta-T to a wider audience including domestic and commercial cooling system users. We feel that Blended, with its experience in the specialty chemical industry, is an ideal partner to help take Delta-T to the next level."

Delta-T is a system additive suitable for residential and commercial properties, councils, and businesses seeking to enhance their sustainability and reduce costs. Fully compatible with metals, seals, biocides, inhibitors, and glycols, Delta-T allows for seamless integration into existing systems without compromising their protective functions.
