Hydronic & Steam Equipment, a Bell & Gossett representative, played a pivotal role in transforming the NFL stadium, home of the Indianapolis Colts, into the world’s largest aquatic arena for the Olympic Swim Team Trials.

Two large Bell & Gossett plate and frame heat exchangers have been installed to heat the pools for this event, ensuring optimal water temperatures for the athletes. Additionally, two large Evoqua filters maintain the cleanliness and quality of the pool water.

The two temporary pools (one 850,000 gallons and one 950,000 gallons) are heated with steam from the Indianapolis Central Steam Plant.

The steam enters Lucas Oil Stadium via an underground tunnel, passes through several Bell & Gossett shell & tube heat exchangers to convert it to hot water for building heat, and is then pumped to the two new temporary plate & frame heat exchangers for the pool. Bell & Gossett’s technology is crucial for this high-profile event, showcasing the brand’s reliability even in the most unique applications.
