The market for surface heating/cooling developed positively in 2019 as well. The record high in 2018 of approx. 213 million pipe meters sold was again exceeded in 2019 with sales of 223.5 million running meters of pipe.
“Thanks to the optimal interaction with renewable energies, surface heating/cooling is the standard for new buildings, but also increasingly for renovations. This technology is, therefore, the first choice for economical and sustainable construction and also serves to protect the climate,” says Axel Grimm, BVF Managing Director.
Gas condensing technology
The Federal Association of the German Heating Industry (BDH) and the Federal Association of Surface Heating and Surface Cooling (BVF) are also optimistic about the year 2020 when it comes to surface heating/cooling. The reason for this: the new, attractive funding framework.
BDH and BVF are also optimistic about the year 2020 when it comes to surface heating/cooling
The President of the Federal Association of the German Heating Industry (BDH), Uwe Glock, believes that growth rates of up to 10 percent are possible for systems that combine efficiency with renewable energies. "We expect a significant plus for this year, especially for heat pumps, wood pellet heating, and gas condensing technology in combination with solar thermal energy," says Glock.
New funding system
The surface heating/cooling also benefits from the new funding system. Because: Not only the heat generator is funded, but also all components of the heating system, including the heat transfer. An example: If an old oil heating system is replaced by a heat pump and a surface heating/cooling system is also installed, the maximum funding rate is 45 percent of the total costs.
“Not only the industry but also the HVAC trades play a decisive role. In order to achieve the environmental goals, the renovation plays a decisive role and a professional installation ensures the efficiency of the system,” both associations underline the relevance of the topic from an environmental point of view.
