The IFH / Intherm trade fair will open its doors in Nuremberg from April 10th to 13th. In Halls 3A, 4A, 4, 5, and 6, the German heating industry shows the status quo of modern heating technology. According to the geographic location of the fair, one focus is on the renewable energy source wood.

According to the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA), around 60 percent of the approximately 29,000 wood-burning systems in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg were funded through the Market Incentive Program (MAP) in 2017.

Dominant energy source

At no other event are the German and Austrian manufacturers of technologies based on pellets, logs, or wood chips represented as concentrated as in Nuremberg,” says Andreas Lücke, General Manager of the BDH.

The share of renewable energies in the heating market is currently around 14 percent

The share of renewable energies in the heating market is currently around 14 percent. With around 70 percent, wood is the dominant energy source among renewable energies. Around 0.9 million wood central heating systems based on pellets, logs, or wood chips are currently installed in the German system. Wood is therefore an important pillar in the implementation of the energy and heating transition. In addition, the energy source is considered CO2 -neutral, as it absorbs about as much CO2 when it is produced as it releases when it is burned.

Modern heating technologies

At the IFH / Intherm, the BDH provides information about all other modern heating technologies in addition to wood-based systems. The special show ‘Innovative Heating Technology’ in Hall 4, Stand 4.304 offers a variety of manufacturer-neutral information and brochures.

In addition to the technologies and energy sources, the political framework and current funding programs are the focus of the exhibition. On Friday, April 13th at 11:40 am, as part of the daily ‘Forum HANDWERK’, a lecture on the subject of ‘Wood heating systems - sensible alternative in the heating market’ will take place.
