The University of Detroit Jesuit High School chooses Aquatherm pipe for a second project. Aquatherm used their famous Green Pipe for this project. The high school campus needed a piping system that could be installed in a new four-story 40,000sq ft building on a very tight schedule. Aquatherm North America fabricated some sections of the chilled-water piping system, saying installation time as well as labor costs.

The advantages of using Aquatherm:

  • Aquatherm was an easy choice because a previous successful piping project on campus features a leak-free Aquatherm Blue Pipe system
  • Aquatherm North America's initial inventory of its new 4 inch SDR 17.6 blue pipe sold out quickly so the company worked with the owner to find a comparable small diameter green pipe that still would provide the needed volume
  • The R-1 value per inch of the SDR 7.4 green pipe provides ongoing energy savings

process and the pressure test

Josh Umphrey, Journeyman Pipe Fitter, John E. Green Co., Highland Park, MI said: “Most of us trademen in the field are 'I'll believe it when I see it' types. But I will say that after going through the process and the pressure test, I'm more than comfortable installing and recommending Aquatherm Pipe.”
