For the second consecutive year, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recognized American Standard, part of LIXIL Americas, with a 2019 WaterSense Sustained Excellence Award for its efforts to defeat water waste and promote WaterSense in 2018. American Standard brand received one of 25 WaterSense awards at the WaterSmart Innovations Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.

WaterSense product line

American Standard was honored as a 2019 WaterSense Sustained Excellence Award winner for its Beauty in Motion Tour, a "showroom on wheels." The tour displayed several of the company’s innovative WaterSense labeled products. Comprised of 101 stops, the tour offered visitors water efficient alternatives for their home. Additionally, American Standard added several new WaterSense labeled toilets and faucets to its line of labeled products that are sold in 11,000 stores across the U.S., making impactful water savings accessible to consumers.

“At LIXIL, it is our priority to create a positive impact in the communities where we live and work. Producing water efficient products and supporting WaterSense is an important part of this contribution,” said Troy Benavidez, Vice President, Public Affairs, American Standard, part of LIXIL. “I’m proud to be part of a company that cares deeply about the social and environmental impact we have on the health and well-being of the world.”

Water and energy savings

Since 2006, American Standard and more than 2,000 other WaterSense partners have helped consumers save more than 3.4 trillion gallons of water. That’s enough water to supply all American households for four months.

In addition to water savings, WaterSense labeled products in homes have helped reduce the amount of energy needed to heat, pump and treat water by 462.5 billion kilowatt hours - which is enough to power more than 44.4 million homes for a year, equating to a savings to $84.2 billion in water and energy bills.

Our partners have made water-saving products, homes and programs accessible across the nation and have educated millions on the importance of water conservation,” said Veronica Blette, Chief, WaterSense Branch. “These WaterSense award winners are leading the fight against water waste to save our most precious resource.”
