The Gardener Schools Group comprises of four London-based schools catering to a number of students and staff. The schools’ existing 4 pipe fan coil system, along with associated water chiller and boilers were old and due to vandalism over the years of the water chiller, there was a hastened need for replacing it.

Adcock Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Ltd. (Adcock) proposed to replace the inefficient old fan coil system equipment with a new heat recovery Mitsubishi Electric VRF system. Throughout the year, many buildings that comprise the schools required cooling in some specified areas and heating in others, including even in adjacent rooms. They needed an effecting heating and cooling solution to cater to varied temperature requirements in different rooms.

Mitsubishi Electric R2 system

The Mitsubishi Electric R2 system meets these requirements by distributing surplus heat from cooling operations

The Mitsubishi Electric R2 system meets these requirements by distributing surplus heat from cooling operations (and vice versa) to rooms where it is needed. This efficiency can result in energy savings up to 30% over conventional systems.

Adcock worked closely with the consulting engineer to develop a scheme that could be installed in phases, while maintaining full operation of the school during term time. During the construction phases, they worked in partnership with the schools facilities director to ensure all the necessary works were completed as required, to allow the school to open normally at the start of each new term.

Adcock 7-year standard warranty

Andrew Richie, Director of Estates and Services at the Gardener Schools Group, commented that he would be very happy to provide assurance to Adcock’s future clients about the fine quality of their work.

As a Mitsubishi Electric Diamond Partner, Adcock Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Ltd. also offers an extended 7-year warranty on the product as a standard.
