Mitsubishi Electric Automation, Inc. previewed a new HVAC drive solution during the 2022 AHR Expo in Las Vegas. A new addition to the FR-E800 family of compact micro-drives, FR-E800-HVC adds expanded capabilities specifically for HVAC OEMs.
The FR-E800-HVC variable frequency drive is designed to help HVAC OEMs meet the new energy regulations that take effect in 2023, as well as meet the UL 60335-2-40 standards.
Streamline equipment installation
The wiring terminals on this drive use a straightforward plug-in connector to streamline equipment installation, reduce labor costs, and eliminate wiring errors. With the autotuning capability for both induction and permanent magnet motors, it is the ideal drive to be used with air handling units and compressor control.
“This drive is going to be cost-effective and will bring a smaller footprint to HVAC OEMs so that they can easily integrate it into their existing systems,” said Ruben Ortiz, Product Marketing Manager at Mitsubishi Electric Automation, Inc. “We saw an opportunity in the current marketplace for a dedicated HVAC micro-drive, so we developed this solution for our customers.”
