High-quality fats and oils are an important component of modern animal feed. An animal feed manufacturer uses palm stearin to produce high-energy dairy feed. The hard fat has a melting point of 58 °C and hardens as soon as its temperature drops below this point.
Heated tanker trucks deliver the palm stearin. A Börger rotary lobe pump conveys the fat from the tanker truck into the production plant.

During the pumping process, the temperature of the fat must be kept at 80 to 90 °C. In order to ensure this, the pump is equipped with a steam heater cover and a heated pump casing. Hot water ensures that the pump casing is heated. As an alternative, hot steam or thermal oil can be used.
The Börger rotary lobe pump has been working reliably for seven years now and ensures the highest degree of process safety.
