Aggreko, the global pioneer in mobile and modular energy solutions, is partnering with TEDxGlasgow, the grassroots initiative created in the spirit of TED’s overall mission to research and discover ideas worth spreading.

net zero business

Aggreko, which is Glasgow headquartered, is a Principal Partner for TEDxGlasgow which aims to put a spotlight on the best ideas across Scotland and amplify them to a global audience in the hope of bringing about systematic change.

This is the latest step in Aggreko’s efforts to build a more sustainable future, after announcing last year's commitments to reduce local and diesel emissions by 50% by 2030 and become a net zero business across all operations and services by 2050.

Over the next twelve months, TEDxGlasgow will deliver a series of sustainability and climate action-related events to drive forward the agenda and raise awareness of COP26.

Aggreko will take part in several initiatives, including workshops, contributions to TEDxGlasgow’s impact report, and a presence at its annual conference. Aggreko will also sign TEDxGlasgow’s Climate Action Agreement, which will be announced on 7th October 2021.

Tackling climate change

Dan Ibbetson, MD of Global Products and Technology for Aggreko said, “As a business, Aggreko has a long Scottish history with Glasgow being home to both our headquarters and our Lomondgate future energy hub. That’s just one of the reasons why we’re proud to be joining forces with TEDxGlasgow to help to showcase some of the best ideas to tackle climate change, the single biggest challenge we’re facing as a global community."

Energy transition

Dan Ibbetson added, “We are committed to helping drive the energy transition forward, which includes supporting our customer's shift towards greener power solutions. We look forward to working closely with TEDxGlasgow over the coming months as we look towards a more sustainable future.
